Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Policy
Our commitment
Child Psychiatry Consultancy Ltd is committed to providing care that is equitable, inclusive, and respectful to every child, young person, and family. We do not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic. Human rights, dignity, privacy, and fairness are central to everything we do.
Protected characteristics
We do not discriminate on the basis of age; disability (including neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD); gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race, ethnicity, or national origin; religion or belief; sex; or sexual orientation.
Our principles
• Respect for diversity, identity, and individuality in every interaction
• Zero tolerance of discrimination, harassment, or victimisation in any form
• Fair and equal access to services regardless of background or circumstance
• Protection of dignity, privacy, and autonomy for every patient and family
• Culturally sensitive and trauma-informed practice
• Reasonable adjustments to communication and processes whenever needed
Reasonable adjustments
We adapt our service to meet the individual needs of every family. This includes: age-appropriate and neurodiversity-inclusive communication; clear language free from clinical jargon; written summaries and visual aids where helpful; additional time during consultations where needed; flexible appointment scheduling; and shorter, more frequent sessions where clinically appropriate.
All our services are delivered remotely via Zoom Business, removing geographical and physical access barriers for families across the UK.
Raising a concern
If you feel you have been treated unfairly or that your rights have not been respected, please let us know. Concerns can be raised through our Complaints Procedure at any time. All concerns are taken seriously, documented, and used to improve our service. Raising a concern will never affect the care your child receives.
Review
This policy is reviewed annually as part of our clinical governance process. Equality standards are assessed through patient feedback, audit, and reflective practice.
