Why Choose Us
Our Process
What to expect
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
Private assessment, NHS treatment
A private ADHD assessment from Child Psychiatry Consultancy Ltd will provide your child with a thorough, expert diagnostic evaluation. However, we want all families to make a fully informed decision before proceeding.
A private ADHD diagnosis does not automatically entitle your child to NHS medication or treatment. Whether a GP will prescribe medication or accept a shared care arrangement following a private diagnosis is not guaranteed — it depends on individual GP practice policy and local Integrated Care Board (ICB) guidelines. Many GPs do not accept shared care arrangements for privately diagnosed patients, which means ongoing medication management would remain privately funded.
If accessing free NHS treatment following a private diagnosis is important to your family, we strongly recommend discussing this with your GP before booking an assessment with us.
Child Psychiatry Consultancy Ltd offers full private medication management and ongoing care for families who choose to remain with us. Our fee schedule is available in our Fees page. We want every family to enter this process with clear expectations so that the assessment experience is positive and the outcome is what you hoped for. Please see more information here.

Insurance Partnerships
We work with your insurer
Dr Athina Zakynthinaki is registered with BUPA, Aviva, Vitality, Allianz, Cigna, and WPA. For all initial consultations, we can bill your insurer directly — please ensure you have a pre-authorisation code before booking.
Our neurodevelopmental (Autism and ADHD) assessments are self-funded — payment is made directly by families before the written report is issued. If you hold private health insurance, you are welcome to submit your invoice to your insurer for reimbursement afterwards.
Please be aware that a general pre-authorisation from your insurer — for example for a psychiatric consultation — does not cover a neurodevelopmental (ADHD or autism) assessment. These are classified separately by insurers and require a specific pre-authorisation for neurodevelopmental assessment. If you believe you hold the correct pre-authorisation, please contact us so we can confirm this with you before any appointment is arranged.
